Eagles Set to Tour With Deacon Frey & Vince Gill In 2018 With Jimmy Buffett

The Eagles Will Tour In 2018 With Deacon Frey and Vince Gill We don't have any specific dates yet but the band, as most suspected, are moving forward with more concert dates next year. After founding member Glenn Frey passed in January 2016 the Eagles took a break until it was announced that Glenn's 23-year-old son Deacon would try to fill his shoes. Walsh said, “Glenn’s son said OK and stepped up; he’s 23 and he’s great. He doesn’t know he’s great but he’s great, and that really helped us spiritually. Then we got Vince Gill and he filled in that ghost voice in the harmonies, and he’s a brilliant musician. Joe Walsh, who joined the Eagles in the mid-seventies told the Las Vegas Sun that the newer shows with Vince and Deacon “felt great.” He added "So we took a deep breath and recommitted and yes, next year we're going to play between 40 and 50 shows." The bands longtime manager Irving Azoff told that the Eagles would be doing a stadium tour with Jimmy Buffett. We do know that there will be a show at Coors Field in Denver. Azoff said, “The Eagles are in an experimental phase, I look at is as not really an Eagles tour; it’s really a celebration of their music. We just kind of do things that feel right. I don’t know how long it’ll go. I don’t speculate there will be any (studio) recordings based on the public’s willingness to listen at this point. I’m not going to suggest it, anyway.” Makes sure to subscribe to our channel and we'll keep you updated on more Eagles news. - by John Beaudin John Beaudin has been in major market radio (Edmonton, Vancouver & Calgary) for 33 years and a music journalist since 1989. Yo!! What's up, dudes?! So we made it. It wasn't too bad (6th worse on record) and, luckily, we never lost power. I got friends with no power and it's looking like Thursday at the earliest for them, which really sucks. The lights were flickering a bit, but they never went out. I shot some video during the storm and then the day after. I was able to use the snow blower to clear the driveway in short order, though I broke a shear pin pretty quickly and that set me back about an hour until I found another one in the basement. There was a 24 hour driving ban from 4pm the day of the storm until 4pm the next day. That was a smart move by the governor because they'd always be some idiot trying to drive through it and impeding the snow removal. All in all, it wasn't too bad. Check out the nuthatch at the bird feeder while the coffee is brewing. And then a Carolina wren shows up along with a pair of cardinals. Enjoy!! --Steve

  • Henryk Wieniawski - Le carnaval russe Op. 11 (audio + sheet music)

    Duration: 8:31 - FileType: mp3 - Bitrate: 192 Kbps

Henryk Wieniawski - Le carnaval russe Op. 11 audio + sheet music

Often compared to Paganini, Wieniawski was one of the greatest violinists of the Romantic era. As a performer, he dazzled audiences with his stupendous technique, expressive phrasing, and rich tone. As a composer, he succeeded in blending brilliant virtuosity with true Romantic inspiration. Like his compatriot Chopin, Wieniawski wrote music which celebrated the spirit of Poland, with his popular Polonaise in D major serving as a sterling example. Wieniawski's talent as a composer came to the fore in his extraordinary Violin Concerto No. 2, regarded as one of the great works of the Romantic violin repertoire. Born in Poland while the country was under foreign rule, Wieniawski was a member of a family which produced several remarkable musicians. Recognized as a prodigy, Wieniawski auditioned for the Paris Conservatoire at the age of nine. In 1846, he received first prize in violin. Two years later, Wieniawski embarked on a career as a concert violinist, performing first in Paris and then in St. Petersburg. After achieving great success in St. Petersburg, Wieniawski returned to Paris to study composition. Between 1851 and 1853, Wieniawski lived in Russia, giving concerts with his younger brother Joseph. In many ways the typical Romantic virtuoso, Wieniawski was also developing into a serious composer. The works published by the time he was 18 included the Polonaise in D major and the Violin Concerto No. 1 in F sharp minor. A work in which musical inspiration may have been, as critics later maintained, subordinated to the virtuoso's need to demonstrate his sheer technical prowess, the Violin Concerto No. 1 nevertheless hugely impressed European audiences, launching Wieniawski's international career as a violinist-composer. Wieniawski's career entered a new phase in 1860, when he moved to St. Petersburg. Wieniawski immediately became one of the country's principal musical figures. First violinist to the Tsar and professor of violin at the newly-founded Conservatory, he also led the Russian Musical Society's orchestra and string quartet. He exerted a tremendous influence on the Russian violin tradition; his unusual bowing style, with a stiff wrist and raised elbow, later became a trademark of Russian violinists, who, despite the seeming discomfort of the technique, kept rising to the pinnacle of violin performance. Wieniawski also matured as a composer. The Violin Concerto No. 2, composed in Russia in 1862, supports the violin with an orchestral part which, going beyond mere accompaniment, fully participates in the composition's thematic development. Also, anticipating cyclical compositional forms, Wieniawski reiterates the soulful second theme of the first movement in the final movement. Wieniawski's Russian period ended in 1872, when he resumed his career as an international virtuoso. Following a grueling, two-year North American tour, Wieniawski returned to Europe to succeed Vieuxtemps as professor at the Brussels Conservatory. He kept that post until 1877 while maintaining his busy concert schedule. In 1878, although weakened by a serious heart condition, Wieniawski played in Paris, Berlin, and Moscow. In Berlin, on November 11, 1878, Wieniawski collapsed while performing his second violin concerto; in Moscow, on December 17, he was unable to complete his performance of Beethoven's "Kreutzer" sonata. Undaunted, Wieniawski started a Russian tour in 1879, but was taken to the hospital in Odessa. On February 14, 1880, Wieniawski was brought to the house of Tchaikovsky's patroness Nadezhda von Meck. The dying Wieniawski was also in a desperate financial situation, and friends had to raise money for a life insurance payment in order to secure the future of his family. Two months after Wieniawski's death, his youngest daughter, Irene, was born. Le carnaval russe Op. 11 is an an extremely funny and suspiciously ironic piece of music -- a breathtaking example of Wieniawski's elegant and sharp musical wittiness. Dating from the early 1850s, published in Leipzig in 1854, and dedicated to Tsar Nicolas I, Le carnaval russe evokes the spirit of Russia, where he achieved his first and greatest successes and where he ended his career. It allows the violinist-composer to exploit relatively simple thematic material with all the technical virtuosity at his command, including astonishing feats of left-hand pizzicato and the favourite contemporary virtuoso device of accompanying a melody on one string with a tremolo on the string below. Genesis are an English rock band that formed in 1967. The band currently comprises the longest-tenured members Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks. Past members Peter Gabriel, Anthony Phillips and Steve Hackett also played major roles in the band in its early years. Genesis are among the top 30 highest-selling recording artists of all time with approximately 150 million albums sold worldwide. Genesis began as a 1960s pop rock band. During the 1970s, they evolved into a progressive rock band, incorporating complex song structures and elaborate instrumentation, while their concerts became theatrical experiences with innovative stage design, pyrotechnics, elaborate costumes and on-stage stories. This second phase was characterised by lengthy performances such as the 23 minute "Supper's Ready", the 1974 concept album, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway and the two acclaimed albums A Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering. In the 1980s, the band produced accessible pop rock music and fewer progressive pieces. This change of direction gave them their first number one album in the United Kingdom, Duke, and their only number one single in the United States, "Invisible Touch". Genesis has changed personnel several times. Stage fright forced founding member Anthony Phillips to leave the band in 1970. In 1975, Collins, then the band's drummer, replaced Peter Gabriel as lead singer after a lengthy search for a replacement. To facilitate Collins's move to lead vocals during concerts, Bill Bruford and Chester Thompson played drums for the band as they toured, with Collins joining in briefly during lengthy instrumental passages. In 1977, guitarist Steve Hackett left the band. After Phil Collins left the band in 1996, Genesis recruited Ray Wilson (formerly of Stiltskin). Wilson appeared on the 1997 album Calling All Stations, after which the band announced an indefinite hiatus. However, in 2007, Banks, Collins and Rutherford reunited for a 20-city tour of Europe and North America, which included a free concert at Rome's Circo Massimo in front of 500,000 fans. Genesis was among five bands inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. 1978--1979: And Then There Were Three Following the departure of Hackett, Rutherford took on guitar duties in the studio and the band was getting closer to a balance of what each member provided from a creative standpoint. The group decided to continue as a trio, a fact they acknowledged in the title of the 1978 album ...And Then There Were Three.... The album was a further move away from lengthy progressive epics, and yielded their first American radio hit, "Follow You Follow Me", whose popularity led to ...And Then There Were Three... being the band's first U.S. Platinum-certified album. For live performances that year, Rutherford alternated again between guitar and bass with Daryl Stuermer, formerly guitarist with Jean-Luc Ponty's band. Generally, Rutherford played the guitar pieces he composed during the most recent album, but stuck with bass playing for all of the material recorded prior to 1978. Stuermer effectively played everything that Hackett would have performed had he remained with the band. Their 1978 world tour took them across North America, over to Europe, back to North America, and, eventually, to their first performances in Japan at the end of 1978. As the band had been recording and touring constantly since the winter of 1977--78, it was decided by Banks, Collins, and Rutherford to take the majority of 1979 off. Collins had previously informed his bandmates that he needed to attempt to save his marriage by following his wife to her new home in Vancouver. If they planned to go back into the studio, they were going to have to count him out. Banks and Rutherford responded by proposing that the band go into hiatus for the majority of 1979 while he sorted out his family issues and they would record solo material in the meantime.

    Prolific - Divine Disrespect

Song: Divine Disrespect Artist: Prolific ( Visuals by: Notaform ( Produced by: Prolific and James Pew ( North American society has been designed to remove power from our grasp. We are taught to prove ourselves to others instead of following our own path. We are taught to be meek, polite, and soft-spoken... and to respect authority. We are lead to believe that if we are truly deserving of power and influence -- then some authority will decide our merit for us. Think universities, award societies, record labels... think the everyday fight to prove yourself in North American society. My new "Divine Disrespect" dismisses the pursuit of this prescribed form of 'success'. The song chronicles my journeys from the underbelly of Toronto nightlife to defining myself as a 21st century poet. Although the song presents an initial hopelessness in the face of adversity, there soon emerges a tone of extreme resilience. This resilience is divine disrespect. A disrespect for the Gods, and in turn a disrespect for all authority. Divine disrespect is a rejection of any force that imposes itself on the human will - no matter how great. Divine disrespect is the chisel that shapes our fate, and the stake we must drive into the hearts of our greatest enemies. Info on the Visual Artist: Notaform has distinguished herself in the Toronto visual art scene by creating distinct landscapes of stereo sounds layered one on top of the other. She is a digital Jackson Pollack with analog feeds as paint. You can find more of her sublime visual work as well as her experiments in ambient sound at the following link: Lyrics: Intro: Never thought I could act that grey, (nah) Never thought I'd be back that way, Never thought I could pass that phase, Then come back to the past in a black black haze, Verse 1: The crow's in the wind, train`s passing by, Abandoned blackness cast beneath dancing skies, I see the image as it shatters in my eyes, A pathologic pattern now a path to my demise, Cuz I'm addicted to the fast life, Where freaks come out like ribbons in the black lights, Where drugs give visions of a past life, Where the moon lifts and glistens like a jack knife, And last night, it all came down, So don`t think you're on safe ground.. Even when times are beautiful the day is known to change, And maybe in later times you won`t even know your name, The flickering light is almost out I close the blinds, I suffer punishment but i don't know my crime, Fine, I expected nothing less, but I live the sickness if only for just another breath. Chorus: Decay on silent walls, Old love and gravedust, Designs on china dolls, Old love and gravedust. Verse 2: I wonder whether I want this to end happily? Cuz I relate most to those that live tragically, But I've heard that the mind is a tool of alchemy, And you know if it is, well then I plan to dream, Larger than life, I want it all, that`s all I want and I want it tonight, Tonight I can feel it, I can taste it in on my skin, I got faith in my fate cuz i`ll face it and win, But for now I`m looking down and pacing on the fringe, With everything to lose that`s the way it begins... Til every enemy is dead in the street, Till every person in the crowd is on the edge of their seat, Im'a keep stepping, keep repping the beat, Keep pressing on and never accepting defeat, Cuz every minute of my life has been working up to this moment, The gun has been loaded, and God I'm-in-love with the motive. Chorus Outro: The words are what I have for you, The time is what I left behind, The day is what we make it.. If we make it, if we make it.. (Repeat) I'm coughing death upon my hands the colour's black, ....I'm feeling so connected that I'm unattached, ...I've never been a man that ever wants to settle. .....Still I never meant to conjure up the devil.....

    Doobie Brothers- Long train running

The Doobie Brothers got their start in the very late '60s, playing their upbeat, melodic, guitar-driven, multipart-harmony rock in the biker bars and hippie joints in Northern and Central California. Signed to Warner Bros. in 1971, the Doobies released the first in an unbroken string of ten Platinum and/or Gold albums through 1981. The band went through several personnel changes, the most notable being cofounder Tom Johnston's exit in 1976 and pop/R&B singer/songwriter Michael McDonald joining to lead them through a more sophisticated and even more successful musical phase. The Doobies split up in 1982 but reunited in '88 with many original members, cut another Gold-certified album, and have been rockin' down the highway worldwide ever since. Long Train Runnin' 1970-2000 is the first and only complete collection of hits, album cuts, and rare tracks from one of the most popular bands in rock history. Produced with the group's cooperation, this 4-CD box set covers all phases of their 30-year career and includes an entire disc of previously unreleased tracks that were recovered from the Warner Bros. tape an 80-page booklet featuring a band bio, an interview with Doobies producer Ted Templeman, detailed track notes, and rare photos from the Doobies' archives.
